2024 Fashion Forecast

As we’ve all settled into the new year, predictions on entertainment, events, and fashion are starting to hit the socials. After a year full of unique and fun trends, I have a feeling that in the world of fashion, 2024 will be continuing the recent patterns we have seen of funky new trends, and resurrecting older trends in a modern essence. To simplify the predicted trends and movements of this upcoming year, think Y2K meets modern. Fun, feminine, flirty, and funky seem to be the real focuses of this year.

Leopard print is already making a comeback. Animal patterns have been MIA for the past few seasons but are making a major comeback. Leopard print is the current fav of this prediction, but I think we will also see snake and even some zebra prints make their way back in accessories, pants, and shoes. Leopard fur coats will be all the rave in the next month.

Jewel tones, and especially red, were the big statement colors this past winter and will be carrying over into 2024 this spring. A pop of red or a bold monochromatic set and outfits in jewel tones are sure to turn heads and get likes and compliments. Participate in this trend by acquiring a jewel-toned bag or shoes, or even a set to wear and break up as you wish.

Much like the pops of jewel tones, color is coming back to outfits in a bit of a retro way. Colored and patterned tights are huge right now, and I believe will carry into the spring. Tights are such a fun way to add color and warmth to your outfits. Whether they are solid, fun colors or bright printed designs, I strongly encourage you to grab a pair and try this trend out.

The coquette trend was a major part of our fashion last year and is heading strong into this year. Bows are a major accessory and I predict will be on everything from bags to shoes to even candle sticks. The feminine vibe of bows and lace will be seen even as accessories and incorporated into many other trends this year. Stock up on ribbon and lace trim camis if this is something you want to incorporate into your closet this year.

Mixing metals and metallics will be a fun way to spice up your closet this year. Wearing both silver and gold in chunky and charm jewelry pieces will be a big accessory trend this year. On that same note, metallic and sequin-embellished pieces like pants, bags, tops, and shoes are going to be seen in day-to-day outfits as opposed to the usual holiday or festive attire. It’s a fun way to turn any day into a celebration because life is an occasion.

Last year wide-leg denim was the favorite for most. While I think the wide-leg style will still be “in” this year, we may see the slim-leg style, or almost-skinny-jeans make a comeback this year as well. If you do not like the skinny look, maybe opt for a more fitted straight leg jean that will offer some more space, but keep the slim silhouette. Another denim trend I think we will see this year is capris. Wide and tight, and even cargo style. Even large cuffs at the bottom of denim pants will be a major trend this spring, especially paired with sneakers or ballet flats. Denim trends have been everchanging these past few years, and 2024 seems to be no different.
